Cut out animation is an animation technique that is used things like paper, stiff fabric or photographs, the characters and backrounds are made from these materials.

One of the earliest cut out animation was made by Quirino Cristiani located in argentina. Today Cut out animation has been upgraded by technology. now people use by computers using scanned images or vector graphics to continue this method.

Vector graphics is using Geomatrical primitives like points, lines , shapes or polygons, which come from mathmatical equations.

Famous artists who use this technique are Noburu Ofuji who created the Thieves of Baghdad, The Adventures of Prince Achmed by Lotte Reiniger, L'armata Brancaleone an italian film animated by Emanuele Luzatti and theres many more.

Cut out animation is simpler then drawn animation. This type of animation only consists of using different shapes and sizes made from all kinds materials, which is easier then drawn animation which has to have many frames and very detailed drawing.
